Enhance your garden or outdoor space with the beauty of nature combined with the performance of contemporary outdoor flooring.
Most composite decking combines plastic with wood fibres, but our Millboard Composite Decking is made from wood-free polyurethane combined with mineral stone to create a unique resin mineral board that’s tough enough for use in outdoor environments all year round!
Many composite decking boards are formed by extrusion, where the raw materials are mixed and forced through an opening that determines the shape of the end product.
Millboard Composite Decking is hand-moulded from original timber, then hand-coloured by craftsmen resulting in a farm more authentic wood finish.
You’d hardly know it wasn’t wood without close inspection!
Millboard Composite Decking isn’t just made to look almost indistinguishable from real wood – it is designed to outperform it.
Because of it’s unique resin & mineral stone construction, our Timber-Free Composite Decking won’t warp or rot and there is minimal movement in the boards.
With no wood content at all there is nothing that can be affected by damp or attacked by insect larvae.
Does not rot or warp like wood
‘Lost head’ fixing
Resistant to algae
Enhanced Grain Decking
The Millboard Enhanced Grain Composite Decking collection is moulded from selected smooth timber that provides a stylish dignity, with hand colouring recreating the subtle nuances that only natural wood can give.
Highly durable with exceptional anti-slip properties, each of the shades showcase the grain beautifuly.
Weathered Oak Decking
Beautifully aged and utterly timeless, the Millboard Weathered Oak Composite Decking collection is moulded from 100-year-old reclaimed oak timber, and hand-coloured with authentic tones.
Providing an instant worn look, it retains its natural beauty for decades and offers an almost maintenance-free surface with very high slip-resistance.
The Millboard Lasta-Grip® Composite Decking collection combines the attractive appearance of the Enhanced Grain Decking Boards with a unique textured design that offers the ultimate in slip-resistance, without the rough feel of conventional gritted strip boards.
Lasta-Grip® Composite Decking is perfect for areas where safety is paramount but appearance is important.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I use Millboard Composite Decking?
Millboard Timber-Free Composite Decking is extremely versatile and can be used in practically every outdoor space to enhance decks, balconies, roof gardens, boardwalks, bridges, pontoons, seating, steps, planters and more.
Does Millboard Composite Decking need to be sealed?
No, all Millboard Timber-Free Composite Decking is surface-sealed in the factory to ensure it arrives in premium condition. In the first few weeks of use, rainwater will sit on the surface in globules, but don’t worry – this is normal and will stop once the temporary surface seal breaks down.
Can Millboard Composite Decking be marked?
The Lastane® finish on Millboard Wood-Free Composite Decking is highly resistant to scratches, food-and-drink stains, and everyday wear and tear. Sharp objects such as unprotected table or chair legs, spiked shoes or metal planter bases can leave marks if dragged across the surface, so take care when moving these items around. The risk of marking from strong dyes and stains such as berries and animal droppings will be reduced if removed as soon as possible.
How do I clean Millboard Composite Decking?
Because Millboard Timber-Free Composite Decking is made of non-porous composite, it resists mossy build-up and stains, so needs very little maintenance. To remove spills and marks, simply use a mild detergent and a brush. Steer clear of solvents, chemicals and abrasive cleaners that could damage your Composite Decking. There’s normally no need for pressure washing.
Is Millboard Composite Decking slip resistant?
Yes, in BS79.76 slip resistance tests, all styles of Millboard Wood-Free Composite Decking achieve one of the highest slip-resistant ratings. The unique Lastane® surface – a soft elastomer coating – has been carefully developed to provide a tough surface that greatly enhances slip resistance in wet conditions.
What if it snows or is icy?
A small amount of granulated white salt can be used to keep your Millboard Composite Decking ice-free. Please don’t use rock salt, as this contains clay and grit and can be abrasive. When winter’s over, clean the surface with soapy water and a soft broom.
Are Millboard Composite Decking colours consistent?
As with all flooring, we advise installing all of the Millboard Composite Decking you need at the same time to help ensure that the colour is as consistent as possible. We can also blend different batches to create only subtle variation throughout your space.
Does Composite Decking come with a warranty?
Yes – at Thistle we will provide you with a comprehensive 10 year guarantee that covers both your Millboard Composite Decking and all installation work.
