Surveyor/Project Manager

We currently have an opportunity for a Surveyor/Project Manager to join our busy Operations Team.

Our Operations Team is tasked with the project management of all installations from start to finish, ensuring they are completed to an exceptionally high standard and within a strictly monitored timescale – all while delivering the award winning customer service that Thistle is famous for.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

• Carrying out comprehensive pre-installation site surveys.
• Preparing all required documentation and detailed paperwork to allow for a safe and efficient installation to proceed.
• Acting as a primary point of contact and a key communication link between the company and our customers.
• Supervision of installation teams to ensure all quality control and health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times, both on-site and on company premises.
• Carrying out regular installation site inspections and the preparation of reports for the attention of the Installations Director.
• Working with our Installation Coordinators to ensure that all installations are effectively project managed from start to finish.

Direct experience in a trades role would be an advantage, however we also welcome applications from candidates with good all-round knowledge of construction, gained either from direct work experience or educational qualifications such as construction management.

We currently have a vacancy for a Time-Served/Approved Electrician to join our busy Electrical Division.

Our Electrical Division directly supports our domestic customer installations by undertaking the electrical work in a variety of home improvement projects, including Kitchens, Bathrooms and Home Extensions.

Our experienced team of Electricians can also carry out a wide range of domestic and commercial electrical services – from home inspection and testing, rewiring to planned & reactive electrical maintenance, EICR testing and PAT testing.

As an NICEIC Approved Contractor, our customers have peace of mind in knowing that our team is consistently working to the highest standards and delivering exceptional customer service.

The key skills for this role include:

• A minimum of 5 years qualified experience.
• Excellent experience of domestic electrical works.
• Recognised apprenticeship/NVQ qualifications.
• A current SJIB grading card.
• Good knowledge of 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Confidence in both electrical inspection and testing.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience in Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm and CCTV Systems as well as experience with industrial/commercial electrical works would be advantageous.

We are currently looking for an experienced Decking & Fencing Installer to join our installation team. The ideal candidate will be a time served joiner and have excellent practical experience in the installation of Decking & Fencing.

The skills required for this role include but are not limited to the following:

 Attention to detail & finishing.
 Willingness to multiskill.
 The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ensuring health and safety regulations and procedures are followed.
• Organisational and planning skills – including supervision of day labourers involved in any projects.
• Experience in the installation of Decking and Fencing.
• Experience in landscaping is a bonus but not necessary.
• Excellent customer relations.
• Excellent communication & team working skills.
• Flexibility to work with other teams and undertaking landscaping work if required.

We currently looking to recruit a Stores & Transport Operative to join the busy Thistle Gardens & Outdoors team.

The successful candidate will undertake a variety of general stores work involving manual handling and loading/unloading vehicles.  Previous experience in a stores/warehouse environment is preferred.

This position would suit an active, fit applicant due to the manual handling & lifting work involved.

A C1E or BE driving licence and excellent knowledge of the local area is required.

A forklift licence is preferred but not essential, with previous experience within the construction industry, knowledge of building products and possessing A DIGI card with driver CPC providing a significant advantage.
