Receptionist/Admin Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our busy team as a Receptionist/Admin Assistant.

Working from the Thistle Home Improvement Showroom’s main reception desk, the successful candidate will be the friendly, welcoming face and voice of our company, performing a key role in assisting our customers and supporting our team.

Remuneration for this role is £20,000 – £23,000, depending on skills and experience.

This role will require the successful candidate to:

  • Efficiently manage our main reception phone line, transferring calls and enquiries to the most relevant departments and individuals.
  • Assist the showroom team with greeting and directing visitors to the showroom.
  • Process customer payments, both over the phone and in person.
  • Perform a variety of key admin tasks and general admin support when required.
  • Assist in ensuring that our Showroom is clean, tidy and presented at a high standard.

The skills required for this role include:

  • Confidence and a keenness to learn.
  • Excellent teamwork and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak with customers in a professional manner.
  • Good computer & IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office software

Electrician

We are currently seeking a Time-Served Electrician to join our busy Electrical Division.

Our Electrical Division directly supports our domestic customer installations by undertaking the electrical work in a variety of home improvement projects, including Kitchens, Bathrooms and Home Extensions.

Our experienced team of Electricians can also carry out a wide range of domestic and commercial electrical services – from home inspection and testing, domestic and commercial rewiring to planned & reactive electrical maintenance, EICR testing and PAT testing.

As an NICEIC Approved Contractor, our customers have peace of mind in knowing that our team delivers the highest standards and quality of work.

The requirements for this role include:

  • A minimum of 5 years qualified experience.
  • Excellent experience of domestic electrical works.
  • Recognised apprenticeship/NVQ qualifications.
  • A current SJIB grading card.
  • Good knowledge of 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Confidence in both electrical inspection and testing.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience in Solar PV Systems would also be an advantage, as would experience with industrial/commercial electrical works.

Home Extensions Project Manager

We currently have an opportunity for an Home Extensions Project Manager to join our busy operations team.

Our operations team is tasked with the effective management of home improvement project installations from start to finish, ensuring they are completed to an exceptionally high standard and within a project-managed timescale – all while delivering the award-winning customer service that Thistle is known for.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Overseeing comprehensive pre-installation site surveys.
  • Preparing all required documentation and detailed paperwork to allow for a safe and efficient installation to proceed.
  • Acting as a key point of contact and a key communication link between the company and our customers.
  • Supervision of installation teams to ensure all quality control and health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times, both on-site and on company premises.
  • Carrying out regular installation site inspections and the preparation of reports for the attention of the Installations Director.
  • Working with our Installation Coordinators to ensure that all installations are effectively project managed from start to finish.

The key skills required for this role include:

      This role will require the successful candidate to:

      • Engage directly with customers visiting the Thistle Home Improvements Showroom in Aberdeen.
      • Carry out home visits to take project measurements and detail customer requirements.
      • Expertly design and quote kitchens using the latest 3D Design Software (Compusoft Winner).
      • Communicate effectively with our customers and deliver a design and quotation service tailored to their specific needs.
      • Provide continual feedback to our management team so that our kitchen design and quotation service effectively meets the ever-changing needs of our customers.

      • Experience in a customer-facing role with a proven track record in sales.
