Timber Tilt and Turn Window
Tilt and Turn Windows open inward in two separate ways. One handle used in two positions operates the window. Firstly, turning the handle 90° allows the window to tilt inwards providing day-to-day ventilation to your room. Turning the handle a further 90° opens the window and allows fir easy cleaning of the outside glass from inside. When the window is open in this position it also acts as an emergency escape route, as long as the size complies with fire regulations.

This window can also be provided with an optional child safety device making it one of the safest windows on offer.

With the exception of the ironmongery and the glazing unit, our Tilt & Turn Window is made completely from knot free timber. We can supply these windows in either softwood or hardwood depending on you specification.

Timber Doors
Both inward and outward opening doors are available, however outward opening doors provide the best weather performance. This is due to the continuous weather strip that allows the door to be sealed tighter in extreme weather conditions.

The door leaf cannot be lifted off the hinges when the door is closed and locked. For the optimum security the door is fitted with a heavy duty espagnolette, which provides metal hooks at the top and bottom and a throw bolt in the centre. Depending on the weight of the door there may be three or four hinges. Other ironmongery we use includes a Three Point Locking System, Face Fix Bolts, Flush Bolts, Hoppe Handles and Thumb Turn Cylinders. If required we will also fit a Flapmaster letter plate.

The doors set are manufactured completely from laminated, knot free timber, with the exception of the ironmongery and the glazing unit. When a flush door is specified the panels are insulated and usually around 48mm thick width a U-value of 0.6W/m_-K.
